I can hardly believe it is April already. Where does the time go? Our Spring Create Your Own is over and we are now moving on to the next thing. Some who have been to the store recently have already seen the signs stating that our retail store will be closed Monday thru Friday, April 16th-20th, 2018. and there will be no tour on Tuesday, April 17th. Most of us will be heading to Punta Cana on a company trip. We are ready to escape whatever weather you want to call this in PA and get to some warm weather, blue water and sand between our toes.
Many people have also inquired about our Annual Gourd Egg Hunt being held this year on April 28th. We sent out our newsletter to announce signups had begun on a Friday morning around 10:30am, and by 2:30pm, all the 1200 spots in the hunts were completely filled, and the wait list had begun. I cannot express how important it is for you to sign up for our newsletter in order to be one of the first to get all the happenings at Meadowbrooke. All of our events at the farm are released through our email newsletters first, before they get announced on Facebook or our website. If you haven’t already, please sign up today by going to www.mbgourds.com//newsletter. You can still get on the wait list if you are interested in attending the egg hunt and we have had several people call to cancel their spots, so we are working our way down the wait list.
Our Egg Hunt is one of the most popular events we do at our farm. We do three hunts with 450 people in each hunt and over 2,000 gourd eggs hid in a 3-acre field. We also have prize eggs for money, gourds, candy or gift certificates for the store. The admission to the hunt is one canned good per person which goes to a local food bank. This year we will be helping the Paw Packs program which benefits the students of Big Spring School District. For more information on this wonderful organization, please visit our website at http://mbgourds.com//activities/event/gourd-egg-hunt-2018.
Lastly, believe it or not, we are starting to finalize the details for the Summer Celebration which will be held on July 14th. We have also announced the dates of our Fall and Winter Create Your Owns. Details on all of our events can be found here www.mbgourds.com//activities/category/activities.
Well, I think that is all for now. We will try to bring some warm weather back with us from Punta Cana. We will make sure to fill you in on all the shenanigans, oops, I mean business decisions we make (those of you who know us will agree there will be some shenanigans too) while we are there.
Until next month,
Dori is the retail store manager here at the farm. She is the lady that is normally running around in the store moving or cleaning things or behind the register during the week. Every month, she will be blogging about what is going on in the store and what other fun things we are doing as a company.
