Spring is Coming!
March is all about getting ready for Spring here on the farm. The last of the winter decorations are coming down in the store and we are getting ready for all the Spring events that begin at the end of March starting with our Spring Create Your Own.
March is also a great time to get those birdhouses out of their storage boxes. If you have purchased our gourd birdhouses, we recommend that you put a layer of outdoor urethane to protect your house from the weather. You can do this now before you put it out now or at the end of the nesting season before you store it away. We posted a blog last year with helpful information about attracting birds to your birdhouse and your lawn. If you are interested in reading the blog, now would be great time, Birdhouse Tips for Nesting Birds.
For all our farm décor enthusiast, you will love the class coming up on March 23rd. On this Saturday, you will get to paint a cozy barn for the sheep that you also get to make. We have designed the barn along side the new Little houses we have been working on. We have shown some sneak peeks of these on both our Facebook and Instagram pages. These houses look great with our Littles line and the barn provides an adorable backdrop and home for our farm animals also in the Littles line. There are two times to choose from, 10:00-noon and 12:30-2:30 and there is still spots available in each class. If you would like more information, here is the link directly to our website, Barn and Sheep Class.
Easter is late this year, April 21st in case you didn’t know, so there is plenty of time to get all your Spring decorations out or buy some new ones and decorate your home. Start a new tradition for the wee ones in your life by starting a gourd collection for them that they will have forever. Our Miniatures and Littles come in adorable bunnies, chicks and ducks and would be a great addition to a candy-filled basket. Need a small gift to take to Easter dinner, I’m sure anyone would love to receive one of our new Chester Bunnies or a Dillard Candy Dish with your host’s favorites inside. Spring is coming and if you believe Punxsutawney Phil, sounds like sooner than later.
Until next month, Dori
