Fall Create Your Own How to Register
Our Fall Create Your Own is right around the corner. Many of you know that this is our annual Fall event. Our experienced crafters will help you make wonderful fall creations such as; pumpkins, witches, scarecrows, and turkeys. This event is for the entire family and all ages and skill levels will enjoy making their own unique piece.
We have decided to try to create a more calm and relaxed atmosphere at our Create Your Own events. They have become so popular that we are simply overwhelmed by the number of people who want to participate. Last year, if you were able to come, you may remember having to wait for a seat to open up to do the workshop. We realized this may have been frustrating, especially for those with young children or those that had traveled far. This year, we have decided to go to a reservation system so that you will be guaranteed a seat when you arrive. There will be three rooms with reserved seats for each event. Each reservation holds your seat for a three-hour block of time.
- Blue Mountain Room-This is an adult only crafting room (ages 16 years old - 116 years old). There are 20 seats in this room.
- The morning session is 10:00am - 1:00pm
- The afternoon session is 2:00pm - 5:00pm
- Finishing Room-There are 38 seats in this crafting room and seating is open to all ages.
- The morning session is 9:30am - 12:30pm
- The afternoon session is 1:30pm - 4:30pm.
- Main Room-There is 67 seats in this crafting room and seating is open to all ages.
- The morning session is 9:00am -12:00pm.
- The afternoon session is 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
Doors will open a half hour before each class so that you can get instructions, take any pictures of the samples that will be shown, pick out your blank gourds and ask any questions you may have. If you stop in without a reservation, we will be glad to seat you if there are any unreserved seats left.
Registration will begin on August 15th and can be done online through our website at www.mbgourds.com. When you get to the home page, click on the Fall Fest and Workshop block which will take you to the classes. Click on the day you want to come and choose your time and register. There will be a $10.00 registration fee which will be applied to the gourds you craft during the workshop. We will honor cancellations up to three days before the day of the event for a full refund. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email that will have tickets that need to be printed for each person attending. Each room will feature our full line of Fall Create Your Own pieces. For those of you who are very artistic and creative, you will be able to start from scratch and create gourds unique to you. For those of you that find yourself creatively challenged we will have many partially crafted items for you to finish out. Our goal is to send you home with a high-quality gourd that you are proud of regardless of your skill level.
In the next few weeks, we will be posting videos of many of the gourds available to you during the Create Your Own event with tips and suggestions on how to make them. Please follow these videos as they are posted. You will get many ideas of gourds you might like to copy as well as tips on how to finish and accessorize them to your own tastes. There will be simple good food and craft beer available each day of the event. For a menu, check our website during the month of September.
